Policies
All catering in or on campus facilities must be provided by the on-campus caterer, unless you receive prior written approval to use an off-campus vendor.
Catering requests must be made 72 hours prior to the event. If your event is within the 72 hour time period you will need to call the catering director Raymundo Abonce at 312.833.4970 with your request.
Once you have received your copy of your invoice and have filled out a PO (Purchase Order). You will need to send us a copy of the PO and we will update your payment info so you can submit your invoice & PO to business office for payment. We MUST have a copy of your PO at least 24hours prior to your event for your order to be fulfilled.
A 50% deposit is required at least 5 days prior to the day of the event and the remainder of the payment is due on the day of the event before the start of your event in order for your order to be fulfilled.
We usually do not charge for staff service unless necessary. Events with 75guests or more will need to require to pay for a staff server to be available for your event need. This includes event set up, food replenishment, service & clean up.
Basic white or black linen is provided at no charge for any buffet tables. Any extra linens needed for seating tables, check in tables, highboy tables or other, incur an additional charge dependent on type of linen selected. In order to guarantee availability of your choice of linens, one week notice is highly recommended.
If your event will require the use of rentals please let us know in advance so we have everything deliver for you.
A’viands at Roosevelt University cannot provide any alcohol for any event. If you wish to supply your own alcohol, the University requires and we will provide a certified bartender. There is still a 4 hour minimum and the rate is $28 per hour.
Orders cancelled AT LEAST 72 hours prior to the event date will not be charged.
Events cancelled WITHIN 72 hours will be billed using the following scale:
72-48 hours: 50% of the total guarantee
48-24 hours: 75% of the total guarantee
Within 24 hours: 100% of the total guarantee
For food-illness safety reasons, we do not allow customers to remove ANY food from an event at the conclusion of the event. All service items, including Cups, plates, napkins, cutlery, coffee condiments and other service related accessories are not to be removed at the conclusion of an event.
